How to eject your flash drive using Windows PC

This page will teach you how to safely eject your flash drive from your computer. It is always important to eject your flash drive after each use before removing it from your computer. This helps to avoid file corruption that could damage your files.

Click on the small arrow

At the bottom right hand corner of your screen, there will be a small arrow in your tool bar. When you find it, click on it.

Click on the flash drive button

In the same menu, there is a small button that looks like a flash drive. Click on it to continue.

Eject flash drive

In this menu, you will see a list of any flash drives that may be in your computer. Find the one you are working on and click on it to eject it.

Double check

Open the menu again to make sure your flash drive no longer appears in the menu. If it is gone, it is safe to remove your flash drive from your computer. If it is still there, repeat the process again.
